Skin Tags, Skin Flaps or Acrochorda.

Skin tags are skin flaps, little flaps of skin that resemble warts in some cases.

See the picture below

Skin TagThey are annoying to have, for those who have them in visible places, chin, neck and face for example, and they can be itchy and quite irritating. Not to mention the cosmetic aspect.

They are benign tumors.

A benign tumor is a tumor that does not have the ability to metastasize. Metastasis is when a disease spreads to other parts of your body, for example when cancer  spreads from one organ to another, until it has spread to all your vital organs. They can cause negative effects on your health, although there is nothing that suggests skin flaps, acrochorda, in particular have a negative impact on your health.

There is no supporting evidence that suggests removing these skin blemishes causes more to grow, or causes them to grow back!

They can however grow independently,  on other parts of your body, as they are not related to the ones you just removed. So you can have them safely removed, without having to worry about that.

Typically skin flaps are not dangerous and most people who opt to remove them are not doing it for negative health reasons. They can simply be itchy, unsightly, or both.

Laser surgery is widely used to treat them, getting rid of them in 10-15 minutes, the cost however can put people off. Surgery like that is not covered by health insurance, it is considered  cosmetic surgery.

Removing them naturally has become more and more popular, so you might want to consider going in that direction, save a lot of money, and do it safely and painlessly.
